Sun Rubber Industry Sdn Bhd, has been one of the leading rubber compound manufacturers in Malaysia for more than 4 decades. Apart from the manufacture of precure tread liners, cushion gum, repair rope rubber, orbi-tread compound and camelback compound, the company also produce tailored made products based on customer requirements and specifications. Currently, the company export products to more that 30 countries from Asia Pacific, Europe to Middle East.

Sun Rubber’s General Manager of Sales and Marketing, Mr.Lau Chee Boon and Export Manager, Mr.Edward Lee said
at the Autopromotec about the company’s emphasis placed on products quality. “All along, we have placed great
emphasis in ensuring consistency, reliability and quality of products.

The company has established and implemented stringent quality control measures at various stages of its production process. Manufacturing facilities are being upgraded continuously, and an annual training programme is in place to enhance and maintain the employees’ competencies. The total on-going research and development and stringent quality controls reflect Sun Rubber ’s ceaseless commitment to product excellence.”

As a recognition of the company’s commitment towards high quality manufacturing processes, Lau continued,
Sun Rubber was accredited with ISO 9002:1994 by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd (SIRIM) in the early 1990’s which was then upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 in 1995.

The accreditations signify the Group’s quality management system’s compliance with the international standards set by SIRIM Berhad. The entire manufacturing and processing process, from acceptance of raw materials to production process, and the final delivery of finished products, is carefully monitored and under stringent quality control measures to ensure compliance with the required International standards.

Finished goods from each production batch are tested in the laboratory to ensure that the products conform to the standards of our customers’ specifications. The routine quality control measures includes rheological, viscosity, hardness, specific gravity and tensile testing.

“Our company has been an active participant in many of the major shows . This show has given us an opportunity not
only to promote our products, but also to meet up with existing customers and follow up with potential clients, as well
as building new contacts. This is a really good show, we have received many enquires. Besides the visitors from
Europe, there were also visitors from neighboring countries, and some even from the Middle East and Africa.”

Sun Rubber already exports some of its products to Europe. But, it hopes to further expand its European market. “Europe is still a huge market. But we know that we are well prepared for this market as we have the quality products, capable people and capacity to meet the demands of the order . With the addition of the new 270 litre Banbury , we will be able to cope with the increase export demand,” Lau added.
