Trakar Suntex Sdn Bhd Joint Venture

Winner Suntex, a company which has built a solid reputation in the retread tyre industry, has Joint Ventured with Trakar Tyre to establish a merged entity called Trakar Suntex Sdn Bhd. The reason behind this joint venture is to provide more comprehensive and higher quality services to the customer.

Founder of Trakar Tyre, Mr. Poon Tiam has more that 30 years of experience and has indeed contributed a lot to the retread tyre industry. Poon feels that companies in this industry should work together and cooperate, not compete among themselves in a cut-throat manner.

The retread tyre industry could progress further by establishing strategic partnerships, reducing cost, improving competitiveness and providing better services to the customer.

After both parties sealed the agreement, Managing Director of Winner Suntex, Mr. Loh Moi Sung said that all entrepreneurs in the retread tyre industry always looked for ways to work together. The merger with Trakar Tyre proves that all parties believe in the importance of working together.

Mr. Loh stressed the difference between “sharing the pie” and “growing the pie”. He said that sharing the pie is the usual, passive and pessimistic way. All industry players must change their attitude from competing with each other to helping one another by leveraging each others strengths to cover their weaknesses to achieve “a growing pie”, which is a more harmonious and positive situation.

Mr. Loh also stressed that he has been involved in this industry for more that 50 years. He is happy with the progress of the retread tyre industry which continues to grow and develop. Mr. Loh is also the Managing Director for Sun Tyre Industries and Sun Rubber Industry. The brands under the company include Suntex, Winner and Autoways, which are established names in Malaysia and overseas.
