The Malaysia Road Safety Department (JKJR) recently visited Sun Tyre Industry Sdn Bhd in Seremban as part of its nationwide “Your Car Is Only As Safe As Your Tyres” campaign. Sun Tyres Industries was the first recipient of the prestigious product certification licence, Malaysia Standard MS224:2005, specification for Retreaded Pneumatic Rubber Tyres for Commercial Vehicles.

“ The poor condition of tyres contributes to 10-15% of road accidents annually in Malaysia and we want to take immediate action to minimize it. We are happy to be able to work together with the tyre industry to help enhance the awareness of tyresafety”, said Datuk Suret Singh, Director General of Road Safety Department, speaking at a press conference before an organised visit to the factory. There will be training sections at tyre shops so that their staff will be able to educate the public on the safety aspects of good tyres.

Pasaran industri pembuatan tayar celup (tyre retreading) masih lagi berkembang baik walaupun seluruh dunia kini masih lagi belum pulih sepenuhnya daripada krisis ekonomi yang melanda tahun ini. Buktinya, terdapat beberapa pengeluar utama tayar celup di Malaysia yang masih mengekalkan prestasi memberangsangkan di samping peningkatan terhadap jumlah permintaan tayar celup di negara kita.

Proses pembuatan tayar celup bukanlah suatu yang mudah kerana ia membabitkan beberapa peringkat yang dilaksanakan dengan terperinci seperti bermula dengan pemeriksaan awal, meratakan, memperbaiki, menampal, membina, memulih dan pemeriksaan akhir.
Pemilihan bingkai tayar (casing) perlulah diutamakan yang mana gelungan dawai halus di dalamnya dikekalkan, sebaliknya ia diperbaiki lagi dan akan ditampal lapisan bunga tayar baru mengikut spesifikasi yang telah ditetapkan. Tayar yang telah mengalami kerosakan atau kecacatan teruk akan diasingkan kerana ia tidak sesuai dijadikan tayar celup demi mementingkan kualiti dan tahap keselamatan apa tayar celup tersebut digunakan kelak.

Tyre Retreading Manufacturers Association of Tyre Importers. Kuala Lumpur (ATI) and FMM Malaysian Automotive Tyre Manufacturers Industry Group (FMM MATMIG) to promote tyre safety.

Sun Tyre Industries Sdn Bhd showed a strong presence at the recent Malaysia International Road Safety Exhibition (MIREX) 2009 by taking up four booths which were located strategically in the exhibition hall - Suntex, Winner, Autoways and Trakar occupying one booth each. Held at the Mines Resort City from Aug 13th to 16th from 11am to 9pm daily. The show was the first and only exhibition of its kind held in the region, and the admission was free.
